Overview
On May 17th, 2023, Carolina Forest NJROTC held a ceremony to conclude one of the best years in the unit’s history. At the ceremony, cadets were awarded for their hard work and dedication toward the program for the school year. Some of these awards include the Honor Cadet, Distinguished Cadet, and the Team Captain award. Other groups, such as the American Legion, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, the South Carolina National Guard, and numerous more, came to hand out awards.
Change of Command
Along with the awards, the unit performed the Change of Command, signifying a new reign of officers in the program. During the change of Command, the departing Commanding Officer, Meadow Myers, parted ways by introducing the new Commanding Officer, Klaire Heller, while carrying out a deep-rooted Navy Tradition of passing the power to the new Commander. The new CO then welcomed her Executive Officer, Sarah Flemmer, to stand with her on the stage. We thank everyone who showed up for the awards ceremony, and we hope that the unit will prosper under Heller and Flemmer!
