Overview
On February 18th, our Drone Team competed at the West Carteret Drone Challenge. At this competition our cadets had to compete in an NFO Challenge, where one cadet guides a blindfolded person with the drone, a Rotor Head Race, an event that consists of one cadet completing an obstacle course, a Relay Race, a smaller obstacle course the whole team has to complete, passing off the drone after every leg, and finally, there is the landing challenge, the last event in which the team has to individually take off from a landing craft, complete two obstacles, and then land on the craft they took off on.
Placements
Competing against seven different schools and for placement in the Area 6 Drone Championship, our CFHS Panther Navy Drone Team took home 3rd place overall. In the specific events, we took 2nd in NFO, 3rd in the Rotor Head Race and Landing Challenge, and 4th in the Relay Race. Our team took home its first trophy of the season thanks to their skill sets and teamwork! Congratulations drone team!
