Overview
The relationship between upperclassmen and underclassmen in the NJROTC program is an important one. Throughout the years, upperclassmen have played a crucial role in positively influencing underclassmen in the NJROTC program. They serve the role as models, mentors, and guides for the younger cadets, providing them with the necessary guidance to succeed in the program. Upperclassmen are responsible for instilling discipline and values such as leadership, teamwork, and respect for other cadets. They lead by example and demonstrate the NJROTC program's core values of honor, courage, and commitment. They participate in teams and community service events, helping to encourage the underclassmen to do so as well. Their presence has helped create a culture of excellence, and an uplifting atmosphere, where cadets are encouraged to strive towards their goals and better themselves. Without the guidance and support of our upperclassmen, our NJROTC program would not be as successful as it is today.
“They are really nice and make me want to do better, and I want to make them proud. I see them like role models and I want to be like them.” -Diana Holowaty
