Overview
On May 15th, Carolina Forest High School NJROTC held an end-of-year awards ceremony to conclude another exceptional year for our unit. During the ceremony, multiple distinguished cadets were recognized and awarded for their exemplary conduct, leadership potential, aptitude, military bearing, and personal appearance. These awards were given to the cadets by groups that support and sponsor our NJROTC program such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Army National Guard, and Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Change of Command
After all awards were given, the change of command was executed. The change of command is a time-honored tradition signifying the relinquishment of duty from the outgoing commanding officer, Klaire Heller, to the incoming commanding officer, Mackenzie Praet. The new CO then introduced the new executive officer for our unit, Kaylee Hopkins. Thank you to all the cadets and parents who attended this year's ceremony. We hope for another successful year under Praet's and Hopkins' leadership.
