Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Overview
The cadets in Chief Thompson's class had an important basic life support lesson taught by Chief Thompson which included a demonstration of how to do basic life support with CPR dummies provided by Chief Thompson. In this demonstration, cadets learned how to perform CPR, how to properly use a tourniquet, and how to properly use an automated external defibrillator. Cadets also learned survival skills such as how to determine if a snake is poisonous and how to stop the bleeding when someone is injured. Basic life support is an important life skill to learn because it can help save someone's life and anyone can learn it. While these cadets enjoyed this training, they also learned essential life skills.
