Overview
On November 4th Carolina Forest Njrotc participated in the annual Conway High School tiger drill meet. The drill routines consisted of Freshmen Colorguard, Varsity Colorguard, Unarmed squad, Unarmed platoon, Armed squad, Armed platoon, Armed exhibition, Unarmed exhibition, and NS1 squad. These routines were judged by enlisted women and men in the military. The regulation routines were graded based on intensity, bearing, and appearance while exhibition routines were graded based on uniqueness, difficulty, precision, and overall impression.
Knockout
After all the schools were done performing instructors asked NS1 cadets to participate in unarmed knockout and Upperclassmen to participate in armed knockout. Judges slowly disqualify students for bad bearing, poor reaction time, and wrong movements. For the NS1 unarmed knockout two of our cadets, Dolson and A. Thews placed first and second. As for armed knockout another two of our cadets, E. Cardinali and T. Workman also placed first and second.
Awards
Once knockout was finished all of the schools who competed formed a platoon in Conway High Schools gym and anxiously waited for the results. Overall our school took second place overall with armed exhibition and freshman colorguard performing exceptionally well. We would like to thank all of the cadets who showed up and participated in the annual Conway High School Drill meet.
